Big kid beds

Last week Anna and Alex made the move into their big kid beds. We had purchased single sized beds for them for their 2nd birthdays, and had them set up in the room across the hall from their shared room. We had attempted to make the switch to their beds a couple of times, but it always ended up in a pj party with one or the other twin in tears and out of frustration we would move them back to their cribs. Well last week , after putting them down for the night, we heard the pitter patter of little feet. They had both climbed out of their cribs and were running around. After a few attempts to get them to stay in their cribs, to no avail, they were moved across the hall to their beds. Eventually tiredness took over (after 10 at night) and both collapsed into bed to sleep. This pattern continued for the next few nights, until it was decided that enough was enough. The cribs were moved and a bed was placed in each room. They now sleep in their own room, in their own beds, by themselves at bedtime AND for naps. It has been close to a week now and it is peaceful. They both look so cute and tiny in their big kid beds by themselves in their huge bedrooms.
